چکیده

The use of probiotic bacteria can not only enhance the nutritional utilization fish feeds to produce more biomass but also provide a practically “safer” alternative farming industry reduce abuse antibiotics and drugs. This study investigated possibility colonizing Lactobacillus rhamnosus strain GG (LGG) intestine Cirrhinus molitorella (mud carp) fingerling. Colonization LGG was observed in gut tissue after 14 days administration with diet supplemented 1 × 108 CFU/mL LGG. Moreover, growth performance parameters LGG-supplemented group, including relative weight gain, feed conversion ratio efficiency, were found about two-fold higher than control group 60 days. In addition, fed an for showed substantial resistance against infection pathogenic bacterial Aeromonas hydrophila, survival rate up 57% compared group. summary, results indicated that as dietary supplement mud carp fingerling nutrition better protect hydrophila. insight industry, encouraging reduction drugs production market at manageable cost.

The Inhibitory Effect of Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG on Vancomycin Resistant Enterococcus faecalis Colonization in Mouse

Background&Aims: Vancomycin Resistant Enterococci (VRE) are among the most common nosocomial pathogens worldwide. The intestinal tract provides a major source for transmission of these bacteria. Probiotics are living microorganisms that moderate use of them has inhibitory effect on intestinal colonization by enteric pathogens. We examined the effect of Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG) on inhibi...

Bile Resistance in Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG: Stability and Mechanisms

Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG is a lactic acid bacterium that is widely used as probiotic products in the dairy industry. To gain insights into the genome stability of the L. rhamnosus GG in the human gastrointestinal tract and the possible adaption mechanism under different stresses, we first examined the genotype and phenotype of the L. rhamnosus GG grown over 1000 generations under various stre...

Rapid adoption of Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG for acute gastroenteritis.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES A 2007 meta-analysis showed probiotics, specifically Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG), shorten diarrhea from acute gastroenteritis (AGE) by 24 hours and decrease risk of progression beyond 7 days. In 2005, our institution published a guideline recommending consideration of probiotics for patients with AGE, but only 1% of inpatients with AGE were prescribed LGG. The obj...

Stability of Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG in prebiotic edible films

The concept of prebiotic edible films as effective vehicles for encapsulating probiotic living cells is presented. Four soluble fibres (inulin, polydextrose, glucose-oligosaccharides and wheat dextrin) were selected as prebiotic co-components of gelatine based matrices plasticised with glycerol and used for the immobilisation of Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG. The addition of prebiotics was associa...

Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG as an Effective Probiotic for Murine Giardiasis

The gut microflora is an important constituent in the intestinal mucosal barrier and has been introduced as the concept of probiotic therapy that beneficially affects the host by improving its intestinal microbial balance. Therefore, the main objective of the study was to explore the protective potential of various lactobacilli strains for murine giardiasis. By experimentation, it was found tha...
